Physical Education Teacher

Position: Physical Education Teacher
Reports to: Head of Athletics and Wellness, Physical Education Department Chair
FLSA: Exempt

Responsibilities:

  • Plan and instruct physical education classes for PreK-12 students.
  • Supervise assistant teacher in teaching lower school PE classes.
  • Evaluate and assess student performance in physical education classes.
  • Coach a minimum of two seasons in the athletics department.
  • Commit to learn about and support the school's mission.
  • Communicate effectively with students, faculty, and parents about student progress.
  • ​Maintain good professional and collaborative relationships with colleagues.
  • Commit to personal growth through active participation in professional development.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required; master’s degree preferred.
  • Experience playing and/or coaching a team sport at the high school level required; playing and/or coaching at the college level preferred.
  • Swim instruction experience is a plus.

This position may require the ability to occasionally lift or move items weighing up to 50 pounds.
