Lower School Learning Specialist Position
Grades K-4
Convent of the Sacred Heart, seeks a Lower School Learning Specialist Grades K-4, beginning the end of August 2017.
- Has Master’s Degree in Early Education Literacy and experience with teaching Special Education
- Works with Grades K-4 on reading and writing (pull-out and push-in with students for whole group lessons)
- Has experience in teaching reading, phonics and Word Study in Grades K-4
- Is familiar with PAF and knowledgeable about Orton-Gillingham, Fountas & Pinnell and other reading programs such as Wilson Fundations
- Provides direct student support through small group and one-to-one instruction
- Collaborates with grade-level teams to implement changes to our reading program
- Supports teachers in differentiating instruction for students
- Meets weekly with the Support Services Team to provide support and strategies for struggling students on an ongoing basis
- Assists teachers with monitoring student progress to determine the effectiveness of interventions
