Assistant Director of Upper School Student Success Center
2017-2018 Academic Year

The Assistant Director of the Student Success Center provides oversight of the learning resource center and the team who endeavor to create a culture that promotes self-esteem, a positive attitude toward learning, and the optimal attainment of the educational goals of every student in our upper school community. The Assistant Director of the Student Success Center collaborates with the Director to manage the educational plans for all students who have an educational evaluation and works with all constituents at the school to determine if students should be recommended for an evaluation. The position reports to the Head of the Upper School.

The Assistant Director of the Student Success Center is a primary resource for faculty about different learning preferences, strategies, and offers regular professional development for the Upper School team.

The Assistant Director also coordinates Success Center coverage by faculty and student peer tutors of the Success Center so that any student can come in and get extra individual assistance with skills with which they are struggling.

Qualifications:

  • M.Ed. / M.A. in Special Education with an emphasis in learning disabilities/differences, reading comprehension or teaching methodology
  • Commitment to equity and inclusion
  • A clear commitment to the mission of the school and our educational philosophy, as articulated in the Goals and Criteria of Sacred Heart Schools
  • Strong leadership ability; enjoy working with children and adolescents
  • Excellent verbal and written skills
  • Ability to work well with students, families and colleagues; willingness to be an active, enthusiastic member of the CSH community
