Assistant Physical Education Teacher

Convent of the Sacred Heart seeks an energetic and enthusiastic Assistant Physical Education Teacher for the 2017-2018 school year to specialize in the instruction of dance and yoga.

Please note: Assistant Teacher positions are two-year, full-time position, September through June.

Responsibilities:

• Assist lead teacher in planning and instruction of lower school physical education classes.
• Lead specialized physical education classes in middle and upper school in yoga and dance.
• Evaluate and assess student performance in physical education classes.
• Opportunity to coach team sports in the Athletics Department.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree required; advanced study in the field of dance or yoga required; master’s degree or current enrollment in master’s program preferred.
• Certification in yoga instruction.
• Experience playing and/or coaching a team sport.

This position may have the ability to occasionally lift or move items weighing up to 50 pounds.
