Convent of the Sacred Heart seeks an experienced full time Lower School French Teacher for the 2018-2019 academic year.
The ideal candidate will:
- Have experience teaching French using a full immersion approach (95% target language)
- Demonstrate the ability to plan lessons using authentic literature, games, and songs
- Engage multiple modalities so that students can retain information
- Work collaboratively with colleagues and the curriculum chair to refine the existing modern languages program
- Demonstrate a willingness to integrate French language instruction with other disciplines
Successful applicants should possess the following qualifications:
- Maturity, collegiality, flexibility, humor
- Excellent speaking and writing skills
- 3-5 years of teaching experience with K – 4
- BA in Elementary education or related field; (MA in French, Foreign Language instruction or a related field- not required but preferred)
- Native fluency in French language
- Demonstrable commitment to professional development
