Aquatics Deck Supervisor (Saturday)
Position: Aquatics Deck Supervisor, Saturday
Reports to: Director of Aquatics and Swim Team
FLSA: Non-Exempt
Salary Range: $45-$60 per hour
Start Date: 1/31/2025
Summary:
The Aquatics Deck Supervisor position is an hourly position reporting directly to the Director of Aquatics & Swim Team Programs. The Aquatics Deck Supervisor will be responsible for managing all CSH swim school and pool programming logistics on Saturdays for their assigned shift. This includes supervision of on-deck employees, maintenance of the pool environment and interaction with swimmers and parents/guardians.
Responsibilities:
- Provide leadership, discipline, and constructive feedback to instructors to ensure quality delivery of Convent of the Sacred Heart swim instruction
- Conduct daily pre-shift meetings and prepare the deck for the Saturday shift
- Conduct periodic evaluations of instructors and lifeguards
- Interact with parents/guardians to discuss instructor/lesson placement
- Act as a customer service representative for CSH Saturday Swim School
- Monitor instructor, lifeguard, and student attendance
- Coordinate tasks required to ensure the cleanliness of the pool facility
- Arrange replacements or cover for absent employees
- Act as substitute swim instructor if necessary when an employee is running late
- Suggest areas for improvement and implements corrective feedback to instructors
- Fulfills other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Director of Aquatics.
Requirements:
- Must be able to work Saturdays 8:30am-1:30pm
- Two or more years as a swim instructor are required as well as an excellent understanding of the aquatics schedule, programs and logistics
- Strong organization, communication and customer service skills
- Ability to develop positive relationships with children, adults, staff, parents and colleagues
- Commitment to the SH Goals and Criteria and vision of the division of athletics and wellness
- Required high school diploma or GED. College degree preferred
- Lifeguard, CPR/AED and First Aid certifications required
