Anticipated Upper School Student Dean

Position: Upper School Student Dean
Reports to: Upper School Division Head
FLSA: Exempt, full-time
Salary Range: $100,000 - $131,000 annually, commensurate with education and experience

Summary:
Convent of the Sacred Heart seeks an experienced and enthusiastic Upper School Dean. The ideal candidate will have teaching experience and a demonstrated interest in secondary school education. This is a full-time school-year position, August through June, beginning in mid-August 2026.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Liaise with different constituents in managing extracurricular programs, trips and student activities
  • Manage student government, other student leadership groups and develop student leadership programs
  • Teach an academic class and provide support for students outside of class time
  • Serve as member of the support team and attend faculty meetings
  • Support the students and division by covering study halls, emergency coverage, lunch duties, and other assignments as needed
  • Help develop advisory program and serve as a student advisor
  • Assist with the Visiting Students Program
  • Support transition from Middle to Upper School and support Admissions events

Requirements & Qualifications:
  • Master’s degree in Education or a related field required.
  • Previous teaching experience at the high-school level preferred
  • Have a passion for interacting with high-school aged students, in and outside of the classroom.
  • Excellent organizational, written, and verbal communications skills
  • Knowledge of, appreciation for, and demonstrated commitment to anti-racist, anti-bias education, multicultural teaching, and culturally responsive pedagogy
  • Proficient with current educational technology, especially blended learning platforms and strategies
  • Positive team player with a desire to contribute and share your gifts and talents with the students, faculty and administration of the school
