Middle School French and Spanish Leave Replacement

Reports to: Middle School Division Head
FLSA: Exempt, full-time
We are seeking an experienced Middle School Spanish and French Teacher for a leave replacement through October of 2020.
Qualifications:
Applicants must possess a bachelor’s degree (a master’s degree is strongly preferred) and must demonstrate fluency in Spanish and French. A minimum of 2 years of experience teaching Middle School Spanish and French is required. Serious candidates will also possess a commitment to using innovative teaching practices and technology to enhance instruction. Suitable candidates will have a demonstrated enthusiasm for working with adolescent learners, a strong sense of school community and teamwork, and excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills. In addition, applicants should have experience in teaching with technology, especially with Google and Smartboard platforms.
Responsibilities:
- Teaching middle school Spanish and French classes to grades 5, 6, 7, and 8
- Helping students build a foundation in both languages for continued learning in the Upper School
- Other school duties as required as a member of the middle school community
- Ability to adapt to changing circumstances and schedules
- Comfort both with teaching students in-person and remote learners
