Position: Middle School English Teacher
Reports to: Middle School Division Head and English Department Chairperson
FLSA: Exempt, full-time
Salary Range: $67,500-$100,000 annually, commensurate with education and experience

Summary:
Convent of the Sacred Heart is seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Middle School English teacher. The ideal candidate will have three or more years of teaching experience and have shown a demonstrated interest in middle-school education. This is a full-time school-year position, August through June, beginning late August 2025.

Responsibilities:

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Teaching 5th-grade English (three sections) and 6th-grade English (one section)
  • Providing academic support for students outside of class time
  • Attending department and faculty meetings
  • Serving as a homeroom teacher and in other support roles
  • Leading extracurricular activities and being actively involved in the life of the school
Requirements and Qualifications:
  • Master’s degree in English or a related field required
  • Previous teaching experience preferred
  • Excellent organizational, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency with current educational technology
  • Knowledge of, appreciation for, and demonstrated commitment to anti-racist and anti-bias education, multicultural teaching, and culturally responsive pedagogy
  • Positive team player with a desire to contribute and share your gifts and talents with the students and administration of the school
