Position: Middle School Soccer (7th/8th Grade) Head Coach (Fall Season)
Reports to: Associate Director of Athletics
FLSA: Exempt part-time
Salary Range: $2,300 - $3,000
Season Dates: September 8 - October 30, 2025
Schedule:
- Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays: 3pm - 5pm
Summary:
The Middle School Head Soccer Coach for the 7th and 8th grade team plays a vital role in delivering high-quality instruction, fostering a positive and inclusive team culture, and supporting the holistic development of student-athletes. In collaboration with the Varsity Soccer Head Coach and Associate Director of Athletics, the coach helps implement the long-term vision for the soccer program through engaging practices, mentorship, and administrative support, with a focus on preparing middle school athletes for future success at the varsity level.
Responsibilities:
- Demonstrate high-level instruction in soccer skills, tactics and strategy, supporting the implementation of effective, engaging practice sessions.
- Help reinforce a strong, positive team culture aligned with the values and philosophy of the CSH athletic program and mission and goals of the school.
- Strive for development in line with the long-term program vision, plan and curriculum set out by the Varsity Soccer Head Coach
- Demonstrate genuine care for the holistic development of student-athletes—social, emotional, academic, ethical, and athletic—with an unwavering commitment to their health, safety, and well-being.
- Collaborate closely with the Assistant Coach and Associate Director of Athletics to advance program goals and foster team success.
- Model leadership, professionalism, and integrity in all interactions with student-athletes, families, colleagues, and school administrators.
- Uphold the highest standards of ethical conduct and adhere to all rules, policies, and guidelines set by the school, league, and athletic department.
- Complete administrative tasks such as attendance tracking, match logistics, distribution and collection of uniforms, communication with families, and other administrative duties as needed.
- ​Maintain professional, collaborative relationships with colleagues, both within and beyond the athletics department.
- Engage in ongoing professional development and demonstrate a commitment to personal growth as a coach and educator.
- Support the Associate Director of Athletics with additional duties necessary for the success of the team and overall athletics program, even if not explicitly outlined above.
- Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of two years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Previous travel soccer, high school or collegiate coaching experience required; high school playing experience required, collegiate playing experience preferred.
- Ability to provide leadership and direction to student-athletes, and support student success on all levels.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively manage relationships with student-athletes, families, and school administrators.
- A record of integrity, reliability, punctuality and strong work ethic
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment.
- Current CPR, First Aid, and AED certification (or willingness to obtain prior to the season)
- Availability for practices, matches, and team events, as the schedule requires.
